My sister s wedding...

My sister, who is twenty-three old, got married this summer.
She met her husband while they were both studying at the same university. They got married at our home, which is in Cornwall in the west of England. Her husband’s family stayed with my parents for the wedding because they live in another part of England.

The wedding took place on a Saturday, which is the usual day for weddings in England, because Saturday is a holiday for most people. The wedding, which lasted for most of the day, consisted of three parts. First, there was marriage ceremony, which started at 12 noon and lasted for about an hour. Then, there was the wedding reception, which lasted all the afternoon. And, finally, after the couple had left for their honeymoon, there was a party which went on all evening.

The marriage ceremony took place in the local church, which is a beautiful old building. The relatives of both families, who had traveled a long way, filled the church because it is only small. After all the guests had arrived at the church, my sister arrived. The dress she wore was made of white silk and she looked lovely.
The most important part of the ceremony is the vows, which the priest reads and the couple repeats. Then they gave each other rings, which were made of gold. Finally, the couple signed a certificate, which is the legal evidence of their marriage. As soon as the marriage was finished, people took lots of photographs outside the church.

As soon as the photographs were taken, the guests all came to our house for the wedding reception. The reception was held in the garden, which looks very pretty in the summer. There was lots of delicious food, which had been prepared by friends and family. Everyone enjoyed themselves, eating, talking, and meeting people. Finally, the wedding cake was cut, which everyone has to taste at a wedding, and speeches were made about the couple and the wedding. The presents they had been given were displayed in the house because people like seeing everything. They had been mainly given things which would be useful in their home.

At the end of the afternoon, the couple changed into different clothes, which were for traveling. When the couple left at the end afternoon, everyone tied things onto their car and threw rice and confetti at them. Then we all continued to enjoy ourselves for the rest of the day.
